Turath is a child of war, an immigrant to the UK at a very young age, who worked her butt off to achieve the social dream: career & financial independence.
Like so many, she achieved those societal expectations of success and then lost her way. So she started a new journey, one that involved finally learning the hardest of lessons about the self and the world, and though she is back in the 'system', now it is being done with greater awareness and greater dis-attachment.
The path of her success now is about re-focusing, away from what she calls the 'human drama', away from obligations, away from expectations, and building something quite personal and quite unique.
We talked about her incredible journey of healing her trauma, how organization can set you free and how managers can take a new attitude to create fulfilment and inspire people. It was JUICY.

Our old school definitions of success are broken. We shouldn’t have to fit in. We shouldn’t have to conform to some ridiculous notion of killing ourselves to have “success”. And It is not cool to completely burn yourself out trying.
Success is people who are brave enough to blaze their own path. It doesn’t come in the form of having a multi-million dollar business or crazy career, it’s in how we live our daily lives. It’s in valuing ourselves and our well-being above everything else.
I am sharing their stories to provoke a different conversation about what success really should be. To spark a new movement. What could our lives be like if we stopped paying attention to the norms, and started blazing our own path? What if we committed to living UNRESTRICTED?
